Hispanic Heritage Month

September 15 - October 15 is a period set in the US to recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans.
Hispanic week was first established in 1968 by President Lyndon Johnson. Later in 1988, it was changed to Hispanic Heritage Month and signed into law by President Reagan. It is celebrated in September 15 because 8 different countries from Latin America declared independence in the month of September.
