The process of producing talavera begins with pottery which is made of clay. It is then hand painted with a glaze and fired in a kiln after which the colors hand painted on the pottery and the piece is then fired again for over 12 hours. The end product is the beautiful sign. Each sign is hand painted and minimum variations can occur.
